Where a painting begins

A painting made for an interior starts with a conversation about the space and the person who lives with it. Colour, scale and the feeling you want in a room can all shape the first idea. You do not need a finished brief to begin: a photograph, a few colours or a thought about where the work might hang can give Khadija a useful starting point.

The paintings shown on this site offer a view of her work in Essaouira. They are examples of completed pieces; each new painting is discussed and created as a separate commission. The format, technique, timing, price and arrangements for receiving the work are agreed for the individual project before painting begins.
